After a successful run of fundraising for Mermaids UK via our Pride Liner, you all helped to raise an incredible £6086.39! The team at Mermaids and here at Glisten are so grateful and the money will go towards helping transgender, nonbinary and gender-diverse children and young people, as well as their families and the professionals involved in their care across the UK. 100% of profits made from our Pride Liner go towards LGBTQIA+ charities and we are so thrilled to be supporting another amazing cause.

Fundraising has already begun for our next dedicated charity, Gendered Intelligence. An incredible charity, established in 2008, that exists to increase the understanding of gender diversity through public engagement and professional services, alongside improving the quality of trans people’s lives with their committed work in education and youth and community services.

Their vision is of a world where diverse gender expressions are visible and valued, and where trans, non-binary, gender diverse and gender questioning people live healthy, safe and fulfilled lives.

They are a trans-led and trans-involving grassroots organisation with a wealth of lived experience, community connections of many kinds, and a depth and breadth of trans community knowledge that is second to none. The team has a variety of professional and academic specialisms and qualifications including training and facilitation, youth work, policy, the arts, and doctorates in trans-related studies.

“We aim to be thought leaders in this field, bringing positivity, passion and professionalism to everything we do. With our open and non-judgmental approach we want to enable nuanced discussion.

We believe everyone can be intelligent about gender!”

- Gendered Intelligence

Combining learning, knowledge and expertise, Gendered Intelligence focuses on three key departments. These are:

Professional and Educational Services

Youth & Communities Services

Public Engagement

Gendered Intelligence offers anything from one to one support to hosting free Youth Groups across the UK, even providing training to schools, employers and therapists and counsellors alike. Their programs are extensive, thoughtfully and specially curated to ensure the best understanding and information on gender diversity.

“For example, understandings developed from our youth work and our professional training and consultancy work feed into our public engagement work; our public engagement work informs the ‘future proofing’ activities we can suggest to consultancy clients; our youth work learning helps shape our offer for educators and for organisations recruiting the next generation.”

- Gendered Intelligence

With help from you, over the next six months we will be able to help raise money for Gendered Intelligence so they can provide speakers/panellists, art projects, workshops and lectures, mentoring and staff training, amongst many other crucial educational tools across various sectors in the UK. We could not be more thrilled to be supporting such a fantastic cause.

"One of the best courses I have been on for a long while [...] a fantastic trainer and the information shared was done so openly and supportively."

- Natural History Museum, 2021
